Cutwork is a traditional needlework technique wherein sections of a fabric are cut in predetermined designs to make holes in it. Then various embroidery stitches are used to define and embelish them to finally give shape to the pattern on the fabric. Generally another layer, in a different colour or shade, is fastened at the back of the fabric that is cut . It not only adds more colour but also makes it more durable.
